Salary: Dependent on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours a week / 25 hours a week 

Contract Type: Permanent



About Us:

We are a well-established GP surgery, committed to providing high-quality care and a professional, welcoming service to our patients. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a friendly, organised, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Care Coordinator. 

 

Role Overview:

As a Care Coordinator within our busy practice, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, both in person and over the phone. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, handling patient inquiries, and supporting our healthcare team with administrative tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner when at the front desk. 

Answering phone calls, managing appointment bookings, and directing calls to the appropriate team members.

Managing patient records and updating personal details.

Scheduling appointments, handling cancellations and signposting to external services. 

Assisting with general administrative duties such as filing, handling post, scanning documents and ordering prescriptions.

Manage a shared email inbox and respond to patient queries as appropriate. 

Supporting the medical team with ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.

Ensuring confidentiality and maintaining patient data in line with GDPR regulations.

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Care Coordinator or administrator within a healthcare setting.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Basic IT skills and experience with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office and Outlook).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A professional and empathetic approach to patients.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to always maintain confidentiality

 

Desirable Skills:

Experience with NHS systems such as EMIS.

Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
