HMRPCA works in partnership with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the region and Greater Manchester Training Hub to support student placements across a range of courses. As well as looking at innovative ways to promote primary care as a career destination What are place-based tariffs/placement tariffs? Some student placements that are hosted by a GP Practice, or other community-based organisation, comes with a placement tariff. The hosting organisation is known as the placement provider. The tariff is a payment of money that is paid to the placement provider. It is set by NHSE to acknowledge the staff time taken to supervise and train the student. Currently, this can take over 12 months to be paid to placement providers. Become a learning environment? HMRPCA would like to encourage all GP Practices and social care homes in Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale to consider offering a student placement. We feel the local areas offer excellent examples of primary and community care provision. Offering a placement encourages students to remain in the county after graduation.
