  • Queen’s Park

12 Back Queen’s Park This Green Flag Park came about after the wealthy local merchant Martin J. Newhouse died in 1873. He didn’t make a will so his estate went to Queen Victoria, who donated it back to Heywood. With those funds, the town built a dignified park for its residents, on the ground sloping down to the River Roch. Queen’s Park has held onto its Victorian layout and monuments like the Lodge House and Victoria Fountain. Awaiting you here is a riverside path, a lake, a visitor centre, a cafe, play areas for little ones, formal flowerbeds, bowling greens and spaces reserved for wetlands and wildlife. The visitor centre puts on a small exhibition about the history of the park, while the lake’s island is inhabited by a large flock of herons. Previous Next

I had only been at RHA for a few weeks and Kath had already cooked me dinners and I will never forget the curry hahaha as someone who finds mayo spice this was a shock to the system xxx but truly amazing Kath loves to try new recipes for tasty cakes in the RHA office - and there is always more that enough to share and sometimes seconds :) Kath is constantly bringing in amazing cakes, cupcakes and sweet treats. She spends a lengthy amount of time on these treats, creating the cake, design, and added extras to really make it special. Kath has often gone around the office to see what others like, and tries to bring things in based on their preferences as a way to make someones day. Everyone is grateful for these gestures. Always bring in homemade cakes and goodies looking after us RHA staff you'll never go hungry when Kath is around. An amazing chef and a genuinely lovely human being, more than deserves this award Kath really looks after us in the office. During her time at the PCT / PCT / NHSE and the CCG, she has managed all contracts and budgets on behalf of the employing organisation for primary care contractors within HMR. Key areas of responsibility included development and delivery of plans for key NHS policy initiatives and changes affecting primary care, which often require tact, diplomacy and negotiation skills to ensure delivery; commissioning services from independent contractors; performance management; implementation of and delivery of development/action plans, implementation of new local initiatives Within RHA, Amanda is responsible for the delivery of primary care developments and contracts, corporate organisation and governance, and the contracting and financial elements of the organisation. Due to the nature of the relationships between independent contracts and the NHS, it is an area that is innovative, gets things done quickly and no two days are ever the same, some days frustrating but ultimately always rewarding.
