14 Back St Leonard’s Church A few miles south of Rochdale proper, but still in the borough, Middleton’s parish church is also a Grade I monument and merits a closer look. Most of St Leonard’s is from the 1520s, with a few earlier remnants like the south arcade, south porch and tower from the 1410s, and the priest’s door dating back a century before that. The church was completed in a Perpendicular Gothic style by Sir Richard Assheton as thanks for the knighthood he received for his role in the Battle of Flodden in 1513. Make sure to see the Flodden Window in the sanctuary, thought to be the UK’s oldest war memorial. St Leonard’s also has a tremendous array of monumental brasses from the 1500s and 1600s, among which is the only brass depicting a Civil War officer in full armour. Previous Next

To help future proof General Practice in HMR by providing clinical and non-clinical staff with the necessary workforce skills, values and support tools, such as mentoring to improve the quality and continuity of safe primary care services in HMR. To promote HMR as the first-choice career location for GPs, Nurses and other health professionals planning their future and highlight the many benefits of living and working in the area with an emphasis on introducing roles emerging and apprenticeships available. To demonstrate that HMR values its primary care staff and their essential role in securing the sustainability of the NHS and acknowledges the need to nurture and support career development. To implement recruitment and retention initiatives to support GP Practices. To grow our own staff by working with local training providers, schools, colleges and universities. Primary Care Network Team < Back Gail Primary Care Network Team Care Co-Ordinator I have worked in the NHS Healthcare setting for over 15 years on and off, starting with the HMR CCG as a temporary administrator and then was invited to support the ‘LEO’ for the Rochdale North PCN. From there I went to GP Care Services where I was the Service Manager for the Domiciliary Phlebotomy Service for 4 years where I also trained as a Phlebotomist. Following this I started with Rochdale Health Alliance in 2019 as an administrator. Once COVID hit I was asked to co-manage the COVID call centre where we had a team of approx. 30 call handlers. When COVID eventually subsided, I was asked to be the Team Leader for the Enhanced Primary Care Hubs which I love doing. I am still heavily involved with the hubs and I am also part of the administration team for the organisation again. I thoroughly love my roles and liaising with external agencies etc as no two days are the same
