Primary Care Network Team < Back Gail Primary Care Network Team Care Co-Ordinator I have worked in the NHS Healthcare setting for over 15 years on and off, starting with the HMR CCG as a temporary administrator and then was invited to support the ‘LEO’ for the Rochdale North PCN. From there I went to GP Care Services where I was the Service Manager for the Domiciliary Phlebotomy Service for 4 years where I also trained as a Phlebotomist. Following this I started with Rochdale Health Alliance in 2019 as an administrator. Once COVID hit I was asked to co-manage the COVID call centre where we had a team of approx. 30 call handlers. When COVID eventually subsided, I was asked to be the Team Leader for the Enhanced Primary Care Hubs which I love doing. I am still heavily involved with the hubs and I am also part of the administration team for the organisation again. I thoroughly love my roles and liaising with external agencies etc as no two days are the same

11 Back Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum A few landmarks in fire-fighting history have taken place in Manchester. England’s first municipal fire service was set up here in 1826, while the first-ever motorised fire engine in the country was put into service in Eccles in 1901. At Rochdale’s Art Deco fire station, dating to the 1930s, there’s a free museum open Friday and Sunday and recounting this history of fire fighting in the Manchester region. The museum plunges you into specific time periods, like a Victorian street scene and the depths of the Manchester Blitz in autumn/winter 1940. There are 23 large-scale appliances to inspect, among them a hand-drawn pump from 1741, hose carts from 1900 and 1904, and a fine Dennis Metz 125-ft turntable ladder from 1957. Previous Next
